Squint Correction (Strabismus Treatment)
Squint, also known as strabismus, is a condition where the eyes are not properly aligned and may point in different directions. It can affect both children and adults and may lead to double vision, poor depth perception, or lazy eye (amblyopia) if not treated early.
Squint correction depends on the cause and severity of the condition. Treatment options include:
- Glasses or prism lenses to correct refractive errors
- Eye exercises (vision therapy) in selected cases
- Surgical correction, where eye muscles are adjusted to properly align the eyes
Squint surgery is a safe and effective procedure, usually performed as a daycare surgery under local or general anesthesia. It helps improve eye alignment, visual function, and appearance.
Early diagnosis and timely treatment are important to achieve the best visual outcomes, especially in children.
